About Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi is an Indian actor who mostly works with Hindi film industry. He is born on 24th March 1979 as Emraan Anwar Hashmi in Mumbai, Maharastra to Anwar Hashmi and Maherrah Hashmi. His father, Anwar Hashmi is a business man and his mother Maherrah Hashmi was a homemaker. He is related to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. Hashmi completed his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai and later joined the University of Mumbai for his bachelor’s degree.

Career

Emraan Hashmi started his Bollywood career with Vikram Bhatt’s thriller film Footpath in 2003. He appeared in this film along with Aftab Shivdasani and Bipasha Basu. In 2004, he appeared in an erotic thriller Murder directed by Anurag Basu opposite Mallika Sherawat. The film performed very well at box office and became the ninth highest grossing film of 2004.

Later in 2005, he appeared in films like Zaher, Aashiq Banaya Apne, Chocolate, Kalyug. In 2006 Jawani Diwani, Aksar, Gangster, The Killer and Dil Diya Hai. In 2007, Good Boy Bad Boy, Awarapan, The Train.

He came to limelight after his performance in Kunal Deshmukh’s Jannat in which he appeared opposite Sonal Chauhan. The film was based match-fixing in cricket. Emraan Hashmi was very much appreciated for his acting skills in the film and the film did great business. Afterward, he has become one of the top stars of Bollywood and been part of many successful movies with almost all of the female lead stars of the industry.

Personal life

Emraan Hashmi is married to Parveen Shahani in December 2006. They were in a relationship for almost six and a half-year before the marriage. Now they have a son named Aryan Hashmi who was born on 3rd February 2010.

His mother Maherrah Hashmi, died on 11th March 2016 while he was shooting for his film Azhar which was a biopic of cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin. He also launched his auto-biographical book named Kiss of Life in the same year.
